The school has a highly qualified, devoted, and efficient teaching staff. Mr. Ranjit Gujar secured the cooperation of parents, maintained strict discipline, and with great efficiency raised the standard of the school to a higher level. Thereby, the school is recognized as one of the top leading schools not only in Satara city but also in the district. The S.S.C. exam results from 1981 to date have ranged from 90% to 95%, with some students securing distinctions in individual subjects and bagged prizes from the Board. The school's strength has risen to 900 students since 1984, and the school is running in two shifts. SEMS has contributed significantly to raise the standard of basketball in Satara. Due to a lack of sports ground, sports activities are conducted on hired playgrounds only for selected items like Basketball, Table Tennis, and Volleyball.

Late Honourable Mr. Ranjit Gujar personally coached the students regularly throughout the year, employed qualified coaches, and took part in interschool, district, and school competitions. Since 1984 to date, the school team has achieved high results, with about 120 students selected for inclusion in the State Basketball team since 1984 and winning interstate matches. About six students from the school were selected as Captain of the State team several times. Many students were awarded scholarships of Rs 1800 per year, and six students were selected for admission to public schools in India for their outstanding performance in Basketball at the National level. In Table Tennis, about 40 students were selected for inclusion in the State Table Tennis Team.The school has received the State Championship in Table Tennis many times and has received Rs. 10,000 for participation and good performance at different levels of competition in games during the last 4 to 5 years.

Students of SEMS also participate in cultural activities. The school arranges cultural and other activities to inculcate good habits and develop leadership qualities. These activities include Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Elocution, Music, and Dancing. With all these activities and the excellent results achieved, the school has become very popular and is counted as one of the top schools not only in Satara City but also in the district and beyond. Parents are very keen to seek admission in our school, but due to shortage of accommodation, we have had to refuse admission. The school authorities have decided and managed to purchase five giants of land for the construction of the school building in the present location, so that the school's income will increase sufficiently to maintain the high standard activities. The new school building is near completion.
